Easy A, a comedy about a girl who's mistakenly labeled her high school's token slut, doesn't sound all that promising on its surface, but I promise the new trailer that debuted today at MySpace will change that. The adorable and hilarious Emma Stone, finally getting a lead role after playing the supportive hottie in Zombieland and Superbad, plays the main character who embraces her slut status, inspired by good ol' Hester Prynne and her scarlet letter.

The supporting cast is also pretty remarkable, with Stanley Tucci showing up for one hilarious line about his daughter looking like the classy kind of stripper, and Patricia Clarkson, Thomas Haden Church, Lisa Kudrow and Malcolm MacDowell all popping in as well. If a good trailer is a promise of a good movie, we might be looking at the first legitimate high school classic since Mean Girls. Check out the trailer below; Easy A hits theaters September 17.
