Editorial: Has Transformers Bought The Internet?

By Josh Tyler: 2006-08-28 00:00:00

Editorial: Has Transformers Bought The Internet? The world of internet reporting is changing folks. There was a time when the net was the one place you could go to get the unfiltered truth. Granted, you'd have to sort through a lot of garbage to get to it, but the net was primarily populated by people making their real opinions heard, without any of the spin of corporate America.

No more.

If you want proof, look no further than Paramount's online marketing campaign for next year's Transformers movie. What, you haven't seen the advertisements? Sure, they aren't running any banner ads or releasing many movie posters or trailers for it yet, but the marketing campaign has already begun. You just don't know you're being marketed to.

A few weeks ago, no a few days ago, the buzz on Michael Bay's upcoming Transformers movie was pretty bad. Fans were in an uproar over recently released pics of what it is that Bay is doing to their beloved robots. Even non-fans had to admit… that Megatron design looks like crap. It looks like a Shrike vomited up a jet.

But over the past few weekends there's been a shift. Paramount's goons have taken control of the situation by pouring a wad of cash into it, and suddenly everything's coming up roses. For instance, go to the once fan populated message board of Transformers producer Don Murphy… and you'll find nothing but popcorn and bubblegum for the film where outrage, disappointment, and calls for boycott once stood.

There's a reason for that. The dissenting voices have been banned and beaten down with threats.

Surf around the internet to those movie sites that were once critical of the film, and in place of their hard hitting reports about how Paramount might be screwing up, you'll find set reports praising the film for being "faithful" and lauding the very things about the film they'd trashed only a few weeks before. It's easy to be positive when you get an all expenses paid vacation to a movie set I guess. I'm not sure I wouldn't have been lured in by it myself. But let's not blame this all on set visits. For some of these offenders the ass-kissing began when they got their first call from Paramount weeks ago. It's only culimated in this.

Yes, Paramount is turning the buzz around for their Transformers project, and they're doing it with a big silencer. Those not already bought and paid for are probably afraid to open their mouths. After all, this is the movie studio that had a website shut down for daring to run an unapproved photo.

Now I'm not suggesting anyone trumpeting positivity for the film is a sellout. I'm simply saying the sudden turnaround is suspicious. Take that for what you will and remember when you read about how Transformers is the most fan-friendly, faithful adaptation of a popular franchise property in the history of film, to take it with a grain of salt. Maybe the movie will be good, maybe it won't (and from what I've heard of the script my bet is on won't), but for now, reader beware. The asking price for integrity might be lower than you think on the internet.

    Hello,

I'm the owner of one of the major Transformers fan websites, SEIBERTRON.com. I'm more than happy to openly state how I felt about these horrible designs on my site. Great article ... I was thinking the same thing. Check out these couple of pages where it's pretty clear what my thoughts are on this subject.

    Transformers 101: This is Megatron
    http://www.seibertron.com/infozone/transformers101.php

For the record, I don't want a direct translation to the original Transformers. I just want something that is recognizable as a Transformer and not some insect looking monstrous robot that looks like the love child of the Predator, Alien, Terminator, David Hasslehoff and a transgendered Taco Bell Chiwawa dog. Give it a recognizable face. Megatron red eyes. Optimus blue eyes. Make some parts of the robot's alt mode visible when in robot mode and I'm happy (i.e. headlights on the feet, hood of the car on the chest, etc). That's all.

  1. Messi Says:

I'm surprised you haven't mentioned Don Murphy's personal attack on a blogger Kneon Transitt, that a majority of Transformers fans were in agreeance with. It wasn't just any attack, it was childish and insulting.

The one site with people who have overwhelmingly criticized this movie and stood their ground is Ain't it Cool News. There has been some attempt by Paramount to criticize those who are criticizing the movie but every talkbacker has ripped them to shreds. So far only 3 people keep posting for the movie.

    http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/tb_display.cgi?id=24276

What is funny is the paramount lackeys have always said that a 100% faithful adaptation wouldn't work. Yet no one has said they want a 100% adaptation. They want something akin to Spiderman and Batman Begins where it made changes but it was still the characters, even aesthetically. There should be a middle ground, it doesn't mean you do a complete reimagining.

People have also said that the leaked script is an early draft. What these people don't understand is that a draft dated Feb 2006 for a movie that begins filming in May 2006, does not mean that by May 2006 it will be a different story. Dialogue can change, a scene or two may be added and/or removed. But these people expecting that within 4 months they will have a new story. Are they really that stupid? Sets were constructed before Feb 2006, how would they be able to shoot for a brand new story, that would mean filming shouldn't begin yet. The story is the problem, and the story remains. Set visits and photos confirm the story is in tact.

And to those that say the Blockiness can't work. Obviously tweaks would have to be made, but that doesn't mean it should become Lego Bionicle. Look at this fanmade CG of Sideswipe. That should have been the movie.

you sound a bit angry you didnt get a set visit like all the "bought " online people. I dont know what in the world you are talking about with the rapid change in opinion.
I am still very hard pressed to find any message board or website that is hung ho in favor of the changes...you are...deluded.
Everyone is vocal and angry, paramount has not "bought " anything. Maybe you are confusing the positive attitude of the set visits as proof that the online community is being bought.
or maybe they genuinely had a good time watching Michael Bay blow shit up. Doesnt mean they are shilling for the movie...wake up and stop spitting nonsense.

  1. Josh Says:

Messi, I agree actually. AICN deserves some credit in this instance. They've been pretty straightforward with their opinion on the project, and even their set report, while polite and appreciative towards Paramount expressed some reservations.

Mike: I would never expect to get a set visit, so why would I be angry? I really don't care. And if you want an example in the massive shift in opinion, just open your eyes and look around. I'm not going to trash my competitors by naming names. I'm not their mommy.

yeah, "true fans" hate this movie...

I didn't get any money from paramount, does that make me wrong because I actually like Megatron? should I be more like you, complaining like a kid?

there may be "true fans" that like the movie, I'd like for people to start saying this sucks once they see the finished product.

  1. Josh Says:

    Archer,

Of course not. You aren't wrong. You have an opinion.

My problem isn't with people who geniunely like what they've seen. You're in the minority, but you're entitled to your opinion.

My problem is with people who trash everything about the film and then turn around and start praising it the first time they get a perk from Paramount.

My problem is with the crude behavior of the film's producers, who've turned on the fans whom they lied to and are now basically telling them to screw off.

  1. messi Says:

Awesome quote from an AICN talkbacker

"Yes, the designs are s*&^. So is the script, the story and the characterization. They changed it to appeal the newer audience which has proven to really like the godawful, mid 90s extreem, busy as s*^& designs........wait a minute. Thats not true. The audiences today are demading respect for the source material. I think Michael Bay is stuck in a time warp where LOTR, Harry Potter, Sin City, Spiderman and Batman Begins never happened. Oh and Don Murphy is a hypocritical douchebag...just fulfilling the quota."

Every review concerning a previously established character always talks about how it is in relation to the source material, this was especially the case with batman begins(nearly every single review talked about how it kept to the source material), sin city and lord of the rings.

  1. Lio Convoy Says:

If being a "true fan" is following the franchise since 1984, owning a collection of Transformers and following every little bit of news I can on a regular basis, then I fall into that category. I was 8 or 9 the first time I heard of Transformers and I fell in love with the concept. The imagination you could have with these toys was great, the cartoon was fun and the comics were a good read (though I had to grin and bear Jose Delbo's blocky artwork, I fondly refer to him as Delbo-Creep, sicne his craptastic artwork probably turned away more readers than the stories did, but I'm getting side tracked here...)

The point is, if it's a part of the Transformers world, I know about it. I've been there since the beginning. As an adult, I'm here now. As a fan, I follow the news and I like things and I dislike things. But the point is I'm an ADULT. I'm married with a child of my own now. I have a life outside of Transformers and the Internet. I've got more healthy interests than a kids toyline. But that toyline still holds my interest and the Decepticon tattoo I got on my shoulder years ago is proof of my love for the toyline and the imagination and dreams it can represent. I wear that "badge" proudly. So I'm what you'd call a well adjusted Transfan. I have a life and Transformers is a part of it, not an obsession.

So what does a true fan feel about this?

Each new incarnation of Transformers is different than the last. Fans have to accept change with each new line. Optimus being a long nose truck - not new. Look at G2. Megatron a jet? Really not new. RiD, Energon and Cybertron are the most recent examples, with Cybertron still airing on TV today. The gun mode? Hasn't been Megs since 1984 and the re-issues since of the same toy. G2 was a tank, as was Armada. Since the first draft of this script by a different scribe than those who finished this, this was not G1 and all involved made that clear.

The whining comes from obsessed, mal-adjusted fanatics who want what they want and nothing else. Non fans will like it or hate it. Some have written how a design turned off a friend. I know people who actually LIKE the designs. Megatron is an ALIEN being. He should look alien. He does. He's not interested in "hiding" on Earth in this first installment of the movie. Why should he care what puny flesh creatures think? He'll terrorize them with his looks for all he cares. The rest of the Decepticons have adopted their disguises to avoid detection by the Autobots. But when they start to make their move, the good guys detect them and come after them. Simple enough, plausable enough. REALISTIC enough. Why should Megatron be a gun? It makes no sense, considering he's been frozen for so long. He is what he was when he came to the planet.

As for his looks, here is what a true fan thinks. I think he kicks ass! I love the designs! I love the imagination behind them! I love that it's not just re-fried sh!t handed to us again on a silver platter because somebody was afraid to take a risk. I love that Michael Bay is making this movie and the bits I've seen so far online rock!

And yes, I've read the script, and it should be really good, esp. with Michael Bay at the helm and these ALIEN beings who actually look ALIEN! Trust me, it flows. When you don't have the whole picture, it's easy to jump to conclusions. And those that are starting to see the whole picture are starting to settle down. It's not because they've been "bought" by Paramount.

This movie is gonna be good. It's not G1, but something entirely new. Why would you want G1 when you already have it in your DVD collection? For us fans, they've gone above and beyond the call of duty that Hollywood usually does. We got Peter Cullen on board. We get to chat with the guys in charge... How many other movies can you say that about? The fans aren't being treated like garbage, in fact, this is the most fan contact I've ever seen on a movie. Settle down and enjoy the ride. It's gonna be fantastic.

  1. Josh Says:

Lio's post is indicative of the revisionist history now being pushed and the way fans are being treated.

Anyone who doesn't tow the company line is a mal-adjusted whiner. Yes, great way to treat fans. Calling them names.

Lio, you may really fell that way but that doesn't mean others aren't entitled to their own opinions. Just because people disagree with you doesn't make them sub-humans.

  1. messi Says:

This pretty much sums up the many many talkbackers on AICN who hate what's happening to the movie. Massive Negative Reaction. Many people even signed on the site to voice their disgust with the design of Megatron.

And Lio. You need youe eyes checked. No one with taste can like Megatron. Over complicated, no focal point, just a mess. A big generic robot that transforms into a Chandelier.

We all pretty much hated the Megatron design. A few people fought us on the idea, who have turned out to be Don Murphy apologists. Don Murphy then took the bull by the horns and called us all basement dwelling Negative Ninnies and decided to pick on one blogger in particular, Kneon. He made fun of his wife and personal life instead of being a professional. After that apparently several of the major sites had a set visit and are posting really positive transformer related articles, completly ignoring the HUGE negative reaction to Megatron and the HORRIBLE script. At this point Don Murphy uses these articles to justify his suckiness. Unfornately several questions still remain unanswered: Why does Megatron have teeth? Why are there no discernable body parts on Megatron? Why is Ratchet a lime green hummer? Why does Starscream have chicken feet and canon arms? Why does Prime have flames? Why does scorpinok just hang out in Vortex's back? Why does Brawl keep Frenzy in his chest? Why does Bumblebee look a skeleton and scary? Why do the decepticons and the autobots look so different in structure when they are the same race? Why do the decepticons look like insects? Where does all the external "armor/car exterior" go that would protect their skeleton from being ripped in half so easily (Jazz)? Why the heavy focus on humans? Why does Bumblebee speak radio (not the bullshit reason given in the movie-voicebox destroyed in battle)? Why does Ironhide want to kill Sam's parents after downloading the internet and understanding our culture? Where is the AICN reporters backing us up? Why did the fan sites roll over these guys instead of posting the truth? Why are the Studio folks hanging around here still arguing with us?.....

  1. messi Says:

Lio you are being duped. They didn't hire Cullen because they care about the fans, they hired him to shut the fans up. this has been told by a few insiders on the production. It was so when the transformers were revealed(originally intended to be on the release) it would be too late to complain. This backfired because many bothans died to leak the robots to the internet, yeah they lost their jobs.

And the whole there have been many incarnations of Transformers, and G1 is just another one. That is silly. G1 is still popular after all these years, none of the incarnations have come close to the popularity of G1. The movie is being marketed to those who grew up watching G1, they have the money, not the kids watching the silly anime stuff on now. When people think transformers they think of G1.

Reading your post again, you definately have been bought by Paramount. A few people you know, doesn't compare to the thousands who have already hated this design on various sites and message boards, spanning transformers, comic books, sports, bodybuilding, porn companies and even gun forums. They all hate it.

Megatron could have been a cannon or a tank. Didn't have to turn into an alien jet, robots in disguise, cos i see alien jets on the freeway all the time.

Your complacent attitude is the reason movies like Batman And Robin get made, for people of the lowest common denominator, people who think 'giant robots fighting and explosions! COOL!'. People who complain are the ones who get films like Batman Begins made. They don't want nipples on batman and they don't want flames on prime.

You could say batman and robin had a bad script and bad directing, yeah well it's not like this movie is being directed by peter jackson. It's Michael Bay. He of Pearl Harbour and Armageddon. And the writing team of CATWOMAN and THE CORE. brilliant.

  1. Kneon\\\'s Deadline (missed) Says:

Yes Josh, everybody who is giving the movie a chance has been bought by the studio.

Sorry you didn't get invited to the set. Could it be because you are not very well respected? I mean with your attitude being close to psychotic, I am not surprised.

  1. Josh Says:

Kneon's Deadline... I never said ANYTHING of the kind. You've completely misrepresented what I've said and then resorted to rebutting my comments much as some of those mentioned in my editorial have, with unfounded personal insults.

  1. Kneon Transitt Says:

For the record... that was NOT me. A Stooge (or Murphy himself) who reads my blog. Gutless. :(

  1. Lio Convoy Says:

Not saying they're sub humans, however, I do believe that a certain level of maturity is expected of adults, regardless of what the situation is. Regardless of whether or not you're on the Internet. I can understand how fans can be very passionate about something they've followed for years, but there is a whole world out there besides Transformers and I sometimes find it very frightening about how obsessed some people get over what's a line of kids toys.

Nobody's duped me. Nobody's said anything to change my mind on anything. I look at the pictures, I look at the renderings, I've read the Feb draft of the script, and I've read a lot of hateful posts online from people regarding this movie. The thing you guys have to realize is that nobody imposed their opinion on me. Nobody even suggested an opinion on me. Nobody converted me. I'm looking at this movie with the perspective of "how would it work in real life"?

Do a search of my posts on Don's boards, if you'd like (same user name). Go back, way back to one of my 1st posts. I think you'll see that the way I envisioned the movie happenning is a lot like the direction that was chosen for it. You can't have it happen as it did in the cartoons. It would bomb. Want proof? Look at the commercial flop the 1986 movie was on the big screen.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092106/business

$5,849,647 That's it. That's what we the fans pulled in for the movie. Translate that into todays dollar, and it's what? 8-10 million?

What needs to happen? It needs to be realistic to pull in other people. For that to happen, designs need to be changed, the story needs to be different. They're not trying to pull in kids here, they're trying to build a franchise and make money. For that to happen, the audience needs to be as broad as possible and people need to go see the movie. So the movie has to be made for everybody. Hey, don't get me wrong, G1 always was and is my favourite rendition of Transformers, but this isn't G1. Just like Cybertron wasn't G1, or Energon, or Armada, or Robots In Disguise, or Beast Machines, or Beast Wars, or Beast Wars II, or BEast Wars Neo... Let's call this Hollywood Transformers.

I kept an open mind with each new series. Some I loved, some I hated. The early script I read has potential for being a very good movie, with some of the geeky dialogue being fixed (and it probably has in the 6 months since it was written) and a few action scenes enlongated. Character designs change. I accept that ever year or every 2 years I've got a new Optimus or Megatron to buy. What's different about this?

Messi, I think you're being a little paranoid if you believe that Paramount hired Peter Cullen to shut up the fans. Being in the industry myself making independent features, I know first hand that nobody hires somebody to do voice work to shut up a fanbase, or anybody for that matter. Financially and artistically speaking, it's not an option. You get the best man for the job, period. If you're not in the industry, you just can't understand, but even the loudest outcry won't be heard if the actor isn't up for the task. That's a FACT.

As for what they could be, well, you know, they could be anything, but the writers decided on what they were going to be and Hasbro approved it. I'd have rather seen Optimus as a flat nose truck, but when I think about it, you hardly ever see them, so long nose makes more sense. The flame job - no idea on that one. I accept it, but I'd have rather seen a flat paint job. It's not explained at all in the draft of the script I read - it might have been a new scene added in later, who knows. Megs as an alien jet - hey why not? I think it's cool to approach him that way. He could have just as easily been a ground based vehicle, but the script is better with him being a flyer and it makes the climax possible. And the climax of the movie is pretty cool.

Remember this. The guys who wrote the script know the material. They're geeks like a lot of us are. You've seen the video of them revealing who was in the script, they're geeks. LOL They're fans. They wrote it trying to keep their vision of the movie alive. It's their vision, not ours. Watch anything that's been edited together and then ask yourself, would I have done it differently? The answer is yes. You'd have written it differently, you'd have shot it differently, you'd have designed something differently, you'd have edited it differently. This is their vision. We have the power. We decide whether it was a good choice in the end.

Love it or hate it, let your pocketbook decide. Once the production is far enough to judge whether you're going to see it or not, let the almighty dollar speak the loudest. We decide what happens after they finish their movie. So far I've seen nothing that says I don't want to go to it. Nobody gets to make up my mind but me. You have strong willed people, and weak willed people and people inbetween. I'm the kind who makes up his own mind and sticks to his guns. So far, I like what I've seen for the majority. Megs design is killer when you look at it in the context of the script.

No matter what, we're all going to have different opinions, and visions of where this movie can go, and if you're as hard headed as I am, then nothing I say will change your opinion, as nothing you can say can change mine. You can make assumptions as how I've been duped, or whatever, but truth is, I don't care about any BS or PR that anybody wants to dish out. I'm a big enough boy and I can make up my mind and decide what I like and what I don't. I've said my piece, it's on record, and others have said their piece and they're on record. So who's right and who's wrong?

The answer is we're all right. We're all wrong. Why? Movies are an artform and there's no right or wrong answer to it. I feel Bay was the best choice - I wanted to see a summer blockbuster movie made out of TF with big explosions, slick angles and movement, and shown as an alien invasion as seen from our perspective. Imagine the horror of it if it happened! Somebody else wants it to be the ark crashing into a mountain, and the Transformers adopting their 1980's forms in CGI with the happy feel good stories of the 80's. Nothing wrong with that either. I'm just luckier because I'm getting the movie I hoped would be made, so I'm happy. Those that wanted something different, well, yeah, you're gonna be upset.

It's not right. It's not wrong. You're right, you're wrong, I'm right, I'm wrong. There's no answer. You can argue till you're blue in the face, you can agree with me or disagree, it doesn't matter. It's all subjective.

Josh, I'll leave you with this. I'm not bought, I'm not paid for. I like what I see. Doesn't matter what any producer or director or writer is trying to feed the fans, I don't buy into it. I let my eyes, and ears decide what appeals to them. I'm as passionate about Transformers as you can get - hell look at the length of my posts here - but I recognize this for what it is. A different Transformers. Would I be happy with a G1 version? I sure would! Am I happy with this - so far so good. Am I happy with whatever crap Hollywood wants to dish out to Transfans? Nope. I hated Beast Wars with a passion, and the horrible dub jobs on Armada, Energon and Cybertron and bad writing turned me off of those bigtime, but at least the Japanese counterparts to Energon and Cybertron were worth watching. Armada was just as bad in either language. I see a potential here with this movie. But ultimately, it'll depend on what keeps on happening with the movie whether I open my pocketbook for it in the end.

Peter was cool. Frank would be cool. Optimus's head looking like Optimus is cool, these are some nice nods to G1. The rest of it, well, let's wait and see! 7-4-7 is coming fast and it'll be up to you and I and the rest of the fans and non-fans on opening day and the days after what happens. I just hope I can go to the movie, lose myself in it for 2-3 hours and have fun. Isn't that what going to the movies is all about?

  1. wideawakewesley Says:

    Lio,

I absolutely unreservadely agree with everything you're saying. I grew up with the original 80s cartoon and I bought the comics and to be honest, I haven't really been thrilled by anything Transformers related since then. However, everything (except for maybe Starscream's design) really has excited me about this movie. I know they've got a kick-ass director and supporting staff. I know they've got a great effects team on board and I'm happy to trust that their (re)vision will be worth every penny of the meagre £7 it costs me to haul my ass down to the cinema to watch it.

  1. Kittie Rose Says:

Josh, I don't think that recently it's gotten worse, I think that recently(with the Megatron design) some people are beign disillusioned.

Seibertron.com was viciously against anyone who did not like the changes. I got suspended there and eventaully banned for the arguments I got into with the people mercilessly defending these changes. Though that might be to do with me not being able to take testosterone fueled fascist assholes as admins as anything - those are the kind of people defending these changes.

People want to feel more "mature" for accepting the changes. It has all the symptoms of a memetic virus. Don Murphy and Co. are creating the most vicious form of viral marketting ever seen, and it's tearing up the fanbase.

Lio Convoy proves this, talking about how ADULTS should be MATURE which apparently means agreeing with them. Maturity is the ultimate way to get people on your side, it's used against rebellious teenagers constantly, usually when they're rebelling against something half valid like forced religion, lack of logical justification, etc.
It's what keeps fascist forums like Seibertron and TFans together.

Nobody wants to be immature. Whining is seen as immature. So people instead convince themselves to like the movie.

I wouldn't really set foot on a Transformers forum right now. It's really sad how horrible they've all become. TFArchive is about the only decent one, though there is one problem member there that starts "anti-Geewun" fights, they mostly don't talk about the movie.

  1. Kneon Transitt Says:

Don Murphy has agreed to an exclusive Q&A over at Seibertron.com to try and squash some of the rumors, as well as address the recent outrage. Hopefully this will address tougher questions than those the writers addressed during their Q&A. If you're up for it, Josh, head over to...

    -------------------------------------------------------

I've not seen much of that maturity coming from Don Murphy or his supporters my friend. It's a two-way street.

He's done nothing but personally and quite frankly immaturely insult and ban forum members for expressing a negative opinion; he's also encouraging anyone who is with him to act likewise. That's not the kind of behaviour I expect of a grown man running a $150,000,000 movie. He should be above such juvinility and getting into online spats with hardline G1 fans. That he isn't speaks volumes about himself and that nobody at Paramount has stepped in to reign in his behaviour says as much about the rest of the production team.

This isn't the first movie in history to attract the ire of fans for changes being made in translation. It is the first, however, where the people making it have been openly and aggressively contemptuous towards those fans.

No honest to goodness fan is expecting a direct translation. There are a fringe who wouldn't be happpy with anything but Transformers: The Movie (1986) verbatim translated into live action. But it is that. A fringe.

The majority just want a fair and recognisable translation of something they invested 20 years of their interest in. Not some production design intern's wet-dream anime project with a brand-name and some stunt-casting attached to it to appease angry fans.

Murphy said "It's like a child throwing a tantrum because they think they're not getting the present they want at Christmas. However, I'm the parent and I know when they open that present they're gonna love it."

Not only is that condecending in the extreme, but it also stinks of, just maybe he's the parent who doesn't really pay attention to what their child likes and buys them something they think they heard that the other kids at school like.

I wanted a Transformer for Christmas, Murphy just bought me a Gundam Wing.

  1. K-roc Says:

I don't understand how someone (like one of the commenters above) could with a straight face say "This movie IS gonna be good. It's not G1, but something entirely new."

What is that based on? Don Murphy's track record? This is the guy that brought us League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and From Hell. The same guy that (according to Quentin Tarantino himself) butchered Quentin's Natural Born Killers.

Bay? Well, even this movies biggest critics agree that the action will be good. Superficial and perhaps incredulous (Pearl Harbor? Armageddon?)... but visually exciting nonetheless. That doesn't make a movie good. I mean, Godzilla 98 broke all sorts of molds in terms of visual masterpiece... but, it was still a god-aweful movie.

The fact is that this movie appears to have gone down the drain with the ego-maniacs that are making it. It's only shining hope is that Steven Spielberg will step in save this disaster.

  1. Stuart Says:

Where is Steve in all this mess by the way? How can he be okay with, if not the choices, but Don Murphy's behaviour in all this. This is one of the most respectable and professional men in Hollywood and one of his business partners is the complete antithesis of that.

So much for being an "active producer". Another lie from the team, no doubt.
