Bryan Singer has already made some fantastic casting choices for Jack The Giant Killer, casting Nicholas Hoult, Stanley Tucci, Ewan McGregor, Bill Nighy and John Kassir in various roles, but one of the biggest parts, the kidnapped princess, has had a huge question mark over it for quite a while. When we last reported on the film, the decision was down to two up-and-coming actresses: Adelaide Kane and Eleanor Tomlinson. Today one of them received a very exciting phone call.

Deadline is reporting that Eleanor Tomlinson has been cast as the lead female in Jack The Giant Killer. In the story she will play Isabella, a princess who runs away from home and is kidnapped by a group of giants. A posse, led by Jack (Hoult), is then led into the giant's land in order to get her back. Acting since she was 12, the young performer previously worked on The Illusionist, Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging and, most recently, Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

Tomlinson's casting comes after an extensive search by Singer to find the right actress, which would suggest that she has a quality that made her right for the role. The film is scheduled to go intro production later this month in London.
