Eli Roth Loves Trailers![]()
When you get right down to it, there’s two types of movie-goers. Some theater patrons stroll in fifteen minutes late, just in time to catch the opening credits. On the other hand, there’s a select group of film fanatics that arrive fifteen minutes early, in order to purchase popcorn, take a leak, and find the perfect seat in time for the trailers. I fall solidly in the latter category. In fact, I would rather not see the movie at all then miss the three minute teasers. Since you’re currently reading upcoming movie news on the internet, I’ll go ahead and assume we’re probably in agreement on this issue. If my arbitrary prediction was in fact correct, than you are going to love this juicy tidbit.
Earlier this week Collider spoke exclusively to acclaimed horror director Eli Roth. During their five minute chit-chat, he revealed that he’s in early pre-production on a groundbreaking film composed entirely of trailers. In case you were wondering, yes, he was inspired by Grindhouse. And why shouldn’t he be? That whole movie was a gory gift from God. The broadcasted spots will cover every genre, and Roth has promised he will tie the whole thing together. Edgar Wright and Greg Nicotero have both been approached to participate, with the latter make-up artist expressing interest in a zombie trailer. Expect quite a few more guest directors, plenty of decapitated eye-sours, and more nudity than Porkys (Sadly, I can’t promise Kim Cattrall). Look for Trailer Trash sometime late next year, as Roth is going to bring the Stephen King suspense novel “The Cell” to life first. |
