Elizabeth Banks Gets Dramatic With Bradley Cooper In Dark Fields? image
Back in November we found out that Bradley Cooper would be making the jump from comedy to drama by replacing Shia LaBeouf in Dark Shadows. Now, according to ComingSoon, he may be joined by an actress who’s also known for movies that tickle our funny bone, Elizabeth Banks.

The article notes that this is only a tip from an unconfirmed source, but, if confirmed by Rogue Pictures, Banks will follow up comedies including Role Models and Zack and Miri Make a Porno with this thriller based on the novel by Alan Glynn. It’s about a guy (Cooper) who gets a hold of a drug called MDT-48 with the power to make a person smarter. The boost in IQ helps him pull in some serious cash and attain a degree of success he’s only dreamed of. But, of course, the drug has side effects and once they’ve set in the darker side of this pharmaceutical phenomenon emerges.

I’ve never read the book, but based on several summaries, the primary female role is the main character’s ex-wife. Cooper and LaBeouf are both capable actors, but with word of Banks’ potential casting, Cooper is the better choice. Even with his scruffy look, the fact that Banks is over 10 years LaBeouf’s senior is just too much of a stretch.
