Elizabeth Banks is about to be very busy. She's just snagged plum roles in two upcoming films, and most of you probably don't even know who she is.
Here's a quick reminder: She's in The 40 Year-Old Virgin and Slither. No, not Andy's vomiting hookup. She's the one from the bookstore. You know, the one with a thing for um… bathtubs. She's also in the upcoming Disney movie Invincible, a film I just got back from seeing. The movie's good, and she's really good in it.
Good actress plus good looking equals more work in Hollywood. According to The Hollywood Reporter she's on the verge of landing a part opposite Rachel Weisz, Isla Fischer, and Ryan Reynolds. in a rom-com called Definitely Maybe. It's the story of a soon-to-be-divorced political consultant attempting to explain his promiscuous past to an 11-year-old daughter. The bummer is that Reynolds is the lead and Banks is probably just going to be a footnote. She plays a college sweetheart who ditches him for his brother. Weisz, who is still in talks to join the cast, would play a girl he gets on the rebound.
Also on Elizabeth Banks' roster is the Warner Bros. movie Joe Claus. She's landed a leading role in that one, opposite Vince Vaughn as Santa's bitter older brother.
