Elizabeth Olsen Cast In Rodrigo Cortes' Red Lights
As a guy who grew up watching Full House, my mind was blown when I found out that not only is there another Olsen sibling - a sister to Mary-Kate and Ashley - but that she actually has some acting chops. Almost 22 years old, the young Elizabeth Olsen has been surprising critics at this year's Sundance Film Festival with two entries, the horror film Silent House and the thriller Martha Marcy May Marlene, and she's not wasting any time before trying to continue her success.
THR reports that the youngest Olsen has signed on to Red Lights, director Rodrigo Cortes' follow-up to Buried. In the film, Sigourney Weaver plays a psychology professor investigating a world-renowned psychic, played by Robert De Niro. Olsen will play one of Weaver's students and a love interest of Cillian Murphy's character. In a bit of meta-ness that it's hard not to love, Olsen is currently studying psychology at New York University.
I must say that I'm curious how the whole acting game will play out for this Olsen sister. Once they entered adulthood everything pretty much dried out for the twins, but it appears that Elizabeth is making a real go at it. If she has the talent that everyone down in Park City is raving about, she should be someone to keep an eye on.
