Ellen DeGeneres created an iconic animated character in 2003, when she lent her voice to Finding Nemo's Dory. And while no one will ever be able to replace Dory in our heart, DeGeneres will go animated yet again for Warner Bros.' Dog Show.
DeGeneres had a big part in the creative development of the film, according to Variety, helping develop the idea with screenwriters Alan Schoolcraft and Brent Simons. The plot is being kept mostly secret, but it will revolve around a stray dog and her misfit friends who crash a snooty dog show.
It feels like a million years since the "Yep, I'm Gay" Time cover and resulting "scandal" over DeGeneres' sexuality. She's more popular than ever given her daytime talk show, and the parents who would take their kids to see an animated movie will now be even more excited to hear Ellen's voice behind the screen. We may not be seeing DeGeneres herself in a movie again, but for now her vocal talents are going to be good enough.
