Emily Blunt Joins The Cast Of Rian Johnson's Looper
Time travel is back and in a big way. In just the past few days we've heard about three separate films that all use the concept: one with Christopher Lloyd, one directed by Robert Zemeckis and one starring Katherine Heigl. Hell, even Men In Black III has a time travel component and Back To The Future will be re-released later this month. As ridiculous and repetitive as it all may seem, one project seems more intriguing than the rest: Rian Johnson's Looper starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis - and now they've added another reason to get excited. Production Weekly, via their Twitter feed, has announced that Emily Blunt has joined the cast, though her role is unknown. In the film, Gordon-Levitt plays a hitman who executes people that have been sent back from the future, while Willis plays a future version of his character.
The film will begin production in January and is expected to have a 2012 release date. Blunt will appear later this year in the Jack Black-starring Gulliver's Travels as the Princess of Lilliputia and early next year you will see her provide the voice for a garden ornament in Gnomeo and Juliet. In other words, you're going to have to wait for The Adjustment Bureau next March before we see her in anything good again.
