Brilliant Brit Emily Mortimer is going the romantic comedy route. She's been cast opposite scruffy Ryan Gosling a movie about a guy who falls in love with a Real Doll.
What's a Real Doll? If you have to ask, you probably don't want to know. The official plot description calls it what Gosling falls in love with a "lifelike doll he finds on the internet", but come on, we all know what they're talking about.
The movie is called Lars and the Real Girl, and according to Production Weekly it's being directed by Craig Gillespie from a script by Nancy Oliver.
Apparently Emily's casting has been in the rumor mill for awhile, but this is the first I've heard of the movie. Both Mortimer and Gosling are really underrated talents (I may be the only person on the planet to actually see and love Stay), so cross your fingers and hope this isn't just a pervy remake of Mannequin.
