Emma Roberts has signed on to star in the movie Hotel for Dogs, a name which would be sure to inspire all kinds of awful teasing… if she weren’t rich, pretty, and Julia Roberts’ niece.
The Hollywood Reporter says the film is based on a novel about two teen orphans who hide stray dogs in an abandoned hotel Basically it’s a movie about homeless people who open a flea-infested pet shop in an old, abandoned building. It’s all in how you phrase it.
Emma Roberts, who really should star in a movie with Channing Tatum if she wants to be taken seriously, has had success in a variety of teen-friendly movies like Nancy Drew and Aquamarine. By all accounts, she doesn’t suck nearly as much as most people who get their job due to nepotism. Some day, she may even make a good movie. That day won’t come with Hotel for Dogs, but it’ll happen, eventually, unless she has the same agent as Hilary Duff.
