Roland Emmerich seems to be stuck in the past. Apart from his planned but going-nowhere concept for a movie about King TUt, he's also got a thing for the prehistoric. His concept for an epic film entitled 10,000 B.C. would be set in (you guessed it), 10,000 B.C. According to Empire Online the story would follow a young hunter who spends his days stalking mammoths as the world around him slowly reaches the cusp of creating that little thing we've come to know as civilization.

Warner Bros. has stepped up to the plate to fund the project, purchasing the rights from Sony who has kept it in limbo. Emmerich may receive as much as $100 million for a budget. While the plot behind this movie sounds a bit shaky to me, I can't completely blame Warner Bros. on taking a chance. They originally passed on The Day After Tomorrow, another of Emmerich's wild ideals that eventually earned 20th Century Fox a tidy little sum.
