Emmy Rossum Blogs From Dragonball Z Set

Emmy Rossum Blogs From Dragonball Z Set I know some people who knew Emmy Rossum in high school, and none of them ever seemed that impressed with her. She’s always struck me as a fairly uninteresting celebrity, which I guess in a world of wardrobe malfunctions and getting photographed with no underpants on is actually a good thing.

So I’m not sure why anyone would read her MySpace blog on a regular basis, but Dragonball Z fans might want to check it out for some behind-the-scenes details about the movie she’s filming. While she spends some time talking about the pet rabbit she had in elementary school and her fondness of Google (I’m serious), she also includes a few tiny details about the shoot.

At the moment the crew is out in an enormous desert in Mexico, where Rossum is riding a motorcycle with Chow Yun Fat sitting behind her. She writes, “The wonderful, kind and talented Chow Yun Fat is hanging on for dear life in back. We've been doing about 40mph, and over bumpy sand dunes that is enough to make anyone a little queasey. Chow is so kind, so calm and a bit of a prankster (which I love!) and he hasn't complained once.”

She also mentions that she’s gotten to know Korean superstar Joon Park on the set, though she’s coy about the interaction between their characters in the film. “Not only is Joon very cute and extremely charming, he's gracious and very down to Earth. We've been trading music, giving each other some of our favorite stuff – he happens to love classic rock.” Were I a crueler person, or remotely interested in either of these people, I would be starting a romance rumor right… now.

I’m not sure how interesting her blog is on a regular basis, but it’s looking like she’ll be doing a lot of posting from the set, so Dragonball Z fanatics, keep your eyes peeled!

  • Emmy Rossum is a highly interesting and dedicated actress and singer/songwriter. She champions causes in the environmental and pediatric AIDS arenas and is admired as a role model for young woman. Rossum made a smooth transition from movie roles as a child because she played a young person in adult films as opposed to starring in children and teen oriented films. She has an utterly spectacular voice which can range from opera to pop to genuine old-time American folk music.

I don't put much credence into vague observations that you know people who knew Rossum (and were unimpressed) when she was in high school. Did your cohorts in high school find you impressive? And why in the world would you ever care if they did?

As for her blogs, Rossum's postings tend to be short snippets into her world, written fairly lightly and conversationally as one would write to a relative or acquaintence. My estimation is that Rossum speaks to her audience through her singing and acting performances, not through blogging. Its a level of reserve that I, for one, find refreshing while others might feel unsatisfying. Clearly, Rossum charts her own path in this regard and does so without assistants, managers, or public relation consultants. For that reason, i raise my glass in toast.

  • I am actually very impressed by Emmy Rossum, and I think she is kind of interesting. She just released a new album, and she wrote the songs herself. I really admire her for not being a typical celebrity, such as getting into trouble just to make headlines. I LOVED her as Christine in Phantom of the Opera! Emmy is such a beautiful singer and actress who has a great sense of fashion. I am not exactly a "Dragonball Z" fanatic, but this film does sound interesting. By the way, I wonder if the people at her high school ever truly knew Emmy, or if they just thought she was quirky. Anyway, all the above are just my opinions. Thank you Katey for the information.
