Well that didn't take long. Eva Longoria is already openly denying the rumors that she and Beyonce Knowles are considering starring roles in Sofia Coppola's lesbian movie Tipping the Velvet. Forgive me if I don't weep. She would have been a terrible fit anyway.

Eva has been quick to tell People Magazine, "Believe me, I would love to work with Beyoncé one day. She's so talented. But this is definitely not something we are doing together. It's completely and absolutely not true."

Eva insists that she and Beyonce had never even met, let alone totally made out before this rumor started circulating. Her spokespeople confirm, "This is not happening. We've never heard of this film."

Usually when fake rumors like this start making the rounds, the people involved stay quiet, or at the very least take their sweet time to deny it. It never hurts to have your name out there after all. It's interesting that Eva's so quick to vehemently deny rumors that she might take on a lesbian role.

The film will be based on a novel by Sarah Waters about a young girl who falls in love with another woman, moves to the city, becomes a stage star, falls from grace, ends up on the street prostituting herself before falling in love with another woman and getting back up on her feet. It's a period piece set in Victorian era London, so casting Eva Longoria and Beyonce Knowles never made a whole lot of sense anyway.
