In the shuffle of big franchise properties like Spider-Man and Transformers, it’s easy to forget that Steve Carell has a big summer movie coming out this year too. Universal Pictures is planning a big Evan Almight reminder on Thursday March 29, during NBC’s ‘The Office’ marathon. Since you’re a person of taste and you’ll be glued to the marathon anyway, here’s a little bonus for you.
Here’s what Universal has to say: ”The trailer for
Universal Pictures' event comedy Evan Almighty will debut on Thursday,
March 29, during the marathon of NBC's ‘The Office.’ NBC will premiere the
trailer during its "Night at the Office" event, in which airings of
multiple episodes of the hit sitcom will air over the course of that
evening's prime time (8 pm - 11 pm Eastern/Pacific; 7 pm - 10 pm Central).
Additionally, the feature comedy trailer will be promoted on the
entertainment news program Access Hollywood during both the Wednesday and
Thursday editions of the show.”
Corporate synergy in full effect, and we get the benefit. I’m actually looking forward to Evan. Sure it’s a sequel to a movie that didn’t really need a sequel, but the premise sounds hilarious. Who doesn’t want to watch Steve Carell build an ark? So keep an eye out for the new trailer on March 29th.
