Exclusive Ruby Sparks Image And Poster Contest Details!

I am constantly amazed by the brilliant artwork I see each and every day online from artists around the world. Whether it’s on a popular social networking site or a tiny little blog, a day rarely goes by when I don’t find myself whispering to my monitor, “Damn, that’s cool.” There are millions of people out there looking for a creative outlet and a way to show off their talents, and now Fox Searchlight and the upcoming film Ruby Sparks is providing one.

The studio has launched a contest on the Make Ruby Real Tumblr page calling on artists from around the world to design posters and fan art for the upcoming indie release. The top five pieces with the most notes on Tumblr will get a limited print run and the winners will have the chance to see their artwork displayed in their local theaters. Artists will have the option to use official materials from the movie, or create something all their own!

To promote the contest, we’ve been given a new exclusive poster which you can check out below (click on it to see it full size in our Blend Film Database).

The studio has also launched a terrific interactive website for the movie over at www.MakeRubyReal.com. Use the virtual typewriter to type words like “Ruby,” “Love,” “Dance,” “Ocean” and see what happens!

From the directors of Little Miss Sunshine, the film tells the story of a young writer named Calvin (Paul Dano) who is struggling with an epic bout of writer’s block. He then finds his whole world flipped upside down, however, when a female character of his own creation, named Ruby Sparks (Zoe Kazan), comes to life The movie has an incredible supporting cast that includes Antonio Banderas, Annette Bening, Steve Coogan, Elliott Gould, Chris Messina, Aasif Mandvi, Alia Shawkat, and Deborah Ann Woll.
