Exclusive SXSW Preview: Meet The Characters From Lovers Of Hate image
As we speak Cinema Blend's intrepid Head Honcho Josh Tyler is on his way to Austin, Texas for the annual adventure of debauchery that is SXSW. If you're like me, you're probably insanely jealous of everyone who gets to spend the next week in Texas, eating barbecue and watching movies and carrying around rifles everywhere they go (that's what happens in Texas, right?)

But take heart, fellow homebodies-- this year a little bit of SXSW is coming to us. Starting Monday IFC Films is bringing "Direct From SXSW" to most cable On-Demand channels, giving you the opportunity to watch three SXSW films without having to stand in line or even buy a ticket. You can catch Le Donk and & Scor-Zay-Zee, the next film from This Is England director Shane Meadows, or the documentary The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights, about the band's Canadian tour. Or you can take a chance on a little indie called Lovers of Hate.

Normally I'd tell you to be wary of some untested micro-budget indie, but I caught Lovers of Hate at Sundance this year and adored it-- you can read my review here. Tomorrow I'll be bringing you my Sundance interview with the cast and director, but before that we've got the first of three exclusive new promos for the film, that act kind of like teasers for the trailer that debuts tomorrow. The first will introduce you to central character Rudy (Chris Doubek), who's recently been kicked out of his house by his long-term girlfriend and is making money as a census taker despite being homeless. Later we'll see how he winds up breaking into the mountain home where his brother is staying, only to find that his ex is shacked up there with him. I promise, hilarity ensues. Check out the exclusive new promo below, and stay tuned tomorrow for the second promo, our interview and the brand-new trailer.
