Need a good scare? You can never go wrong with a good exorcism flick, and Anthony Hopkins is trying to get in on some of that action.

According to THR, the knighted actor has signed on to play a priest specializing in exorcisms for Last Rite, based on a book of true events written by Matt Baglio. The book follows a disenchanted seminary student whose faith is wavering. He attends exorcism school and regains his love for God through experiences with demonic presences during multiple exorcisms. Presumably Hopkins will play the teacher, a field exorcist, or both.

Scandinavian director Mikael Hafstrom will be helming this piece. Having directed the surprisingly chilling 1408, with Last Rite Hafstrom can be expected to deliver scares even if it gets dumbed down to the family friendly PG-13 rating. More on this as casting continues to unfold.
