After months as nothing more than the internet's most surreal screensaver, the official site for The Fountain has finally been updated with real content. They've added photos and the usual download section with screensavers and desktops, but what's most exciting is that they've added a feature that allows you to "experience" the film. Start it, and you'll be presented with a choice of the past, the present, or the future. The present and the future are 4 and 44 days away still respectively, but you can enter the past.

In the past, you'll be treated to a surreal and beautiful set of images and quotes from the movie, as you click through increasingly surreal scenery hunting for the right place to put your cursor in order to move on to the next.

Right now The Fountain is busy getting trashed at yet another film festival. Toronto this time. If you're looking for a reason to stay excited about it, this might be it.
