Extras Injured Shooting Tom Cruise's Nazi Movie![]()
Bryan Singer really should be making a Superman Returns sequel right now. Instead he’s making a Nazi movie called Valkyrie with Tom Cruise over in Germany, and it’s been nothing but trouble. First there was controversy over whether or not they’d even be allowed to shoot in Germany. Apparently though Germans love David Hasselhoff, they don’t love celebrity cult leaders. They’re still banned from shooting at some of the locations Singer wanted to use, and now the production is facing new problems.
The Hollywood Reporter says ten extras were injured on the Valkyrie set this past Sunday when all ten of them fell out of a truck during a second-unit shoot in Berlin. The truck was reportedly only moving at about 10 mph, so the injuries weren’t too severe, but the whole thing sounds bizarre. How do ten people simultaneously fall out of a truck? How the heck does that happen? One or two guys I can see, but ten? Bizarre. None of the movie’s principle cast, including Cruise, were present when it happened. So it shouldn’t delay production any. However the police are looking into the matter, checking the truck for mechanical problems. It’s standard procedure, but even if it wasn’t I’d call a little investigation a good idea. Ten people falling out of a truck? I need to see that on You Tube. |
