When a movie that has three starring roles is making its way around the depths of Hollywood, it's typically referred to as a "three hander," and never has that name been more appropriate than used in the new film that's being produced by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Kevin Messick and Chris Henchy, a.k.a. Gary Sanchez Productions.

THR is reporting that Universal has made a deal with Gary Sanchez to make Leah Rachel's untitled comedy that's centered around a group of friends who are preparing to have a threesome. There aren't any specific details about the story, but apparently it will cover the lead-up, the proceedings and the consequences of the menage a trois.

Rachel doesn't have a great deal of previously produced works that she's written, but she wrote, directed, edited and starred in a short called Key Lime Pie in 2008 and wrote the adaptation of Paige Harbison's Here Lies Bridget that director Kat Coiro has in pre-production. Earlier this year she sold a script titled The Young, The Hot, and The Bothered to Mandate Pictures.

Many may still remember that a comedy titled A Good Old Fashioned Orgy was released with similar subject matter last summer, but considering that movie only managed to make $200,000 at the box office (in 143 theaters) it's not hard to see why they don't think of that film as a threat.

The latest film from Gary Sanchez Productions - Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton - will be released on January 11, 2013.
