Find Neverland
Happy New Year! We are all looking forward to a great 2005 but let’s not forget some of the movies you might have missed in 2004. I’m sure everybody has seen Spider-man 2, The Incredibles, and deservedly so. However, 3 movies that you might have missed were Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Garden State, and Finding Neverland. Sunshine and State are readily available from Netflix but you can still catch Finding Neverland at the theatres.
Neverland is my top movie of 2004 and it made Josh’s Top 10. I have never been a big Peter Pan fan; in fact, I just didn’t care for it at all. So when Josh recommended I go see this, I was hesitant. Well, I have no problem admitting I’m wrong. Neverland tells the story of author James Barrie’s inspiration for his play Peter Pan. Starring Johnny Depp as Barrie, Neverland story is a magnificent tale that brought me quite a few warm moments not to mention several tears by the end. Neverland also co-stars Kate Winslet, Dustin Hoffman, Julie Christie, and more. Before the action movies of the spring grab your fancy, go watch a genuinely moving film that will help you fall in love with a childhood classic even if you made the mistake of growing up. |
