Finding Nemo Blu-ray Bonus Clips Show Some Alternate Footage
After a 3D movie release, Finding Nemo hit 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on December 4 in a set that was chock full of bonus features. Now, Disney has a few clips from the extras on the disc, to give fans a sneak peak of what they might get if they decide to purchase Finding Nemo in a Blu-ray format.
Have you ever wondered what Finding Nemo would be like if it didn’t begin with it’s sad opening scene that hits the audience right in the gut before we even get into the main storyline? Originally, Director Andrew Stanton says the film was supposed to begin with a different opening, and that artsy alternate beginning is available in the above clip. Since the animation isn’t fully formed, it isn’t an exciting visual moment, but learning how a film gets from point A to point B is always worth a watch.
Andrew Stanton introduces the second clip, as well, which explores the opening scene from the film—in its early animation—and explains how the movie’s opener was initially spread throughout the film in a sort of flashback format. However, if you’ve seen Finding Nemo, you’ll know Marlin has some tendencies to grate on the other character's nerves. Because the opening scene was cut in such a sympathetic manner, it gives the audience a chance to open up and like Marlin nearly immediately, and forgive him for his little flaws.
If you already own a copy of the film, it may not be worth it to trade up—especially if you don’t have 3D Blu-ray technology. But if the extras piqued your interest, you can check out what else the set has to offer or hop on over to Amazon.
