First Alice In Wonderland Trailer With Screencaps image
The first real look at Tim Burton’s vision of Alice In Wonderland just dropped, and my God, is it Tim Burtony. Not that the eccentric director’s name should be adjectived with a negative connotation. If ever there were a human being born to do something, Tim Burton was begotten to direct Alice In Wonderland, like Michael Phelps to swim or Graham Norton to make flamboyant gay jokes. Dark, twisty, absurd and a little bit fantastical, Lewis Carroll’s Alice In Wonderland is, in the humble opinion of this writer, right up there alongside J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan and E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Web.

As far as the plot or how literal this adaptation might be, well, I haven’t the slightest idea. Alice In Wonderland is frankly nothing more than nonsensical vignettes loosely hung together by location; so, God only knows where Tim Burton will take this thing. Here’s to hoping we get hookah-smoking caterpillars, Cheshire Cats and more croquet shots than Heathers. A Queen Of Hearts would also be sweet. Go ahead and watch the trailer below. I’m still not even sure how I feel, except that I’m strangely excited to delve into the unknown---and more than a little pleased Tim Burton is my tour guide.

UPDATE! Trailer has been re-released!
