First Clip From Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes Is Short And Brooding
UPDATE: Fox and Weta Labs will be premiering even more footage and behind-the-scenes information on Facebook on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Pacific Time. It'll all be happening, weirdly enough, at the Avatar Facebook page, so remember to look for it there!
Even with Rise of the Planet of the Apes set for an August 5 release, only four months away, Fox has kept the look of the apes under wraps, perhaps waiting to perfect the motion-capture CGI work or maybe just to keep the mystery alive. Today though the studio has released a very, very short clip that gives us our first look at the new apes in action. The clip debuted on the film's Facebook page, and you can also watch it embedded below. Of course the clip shows us very little, and doesn't even specify whether this is the lead ape Caesar, played by Andy Serkis, or an entirely different creature. I guess that's part of the point-- tease us with some very good-looking CGI, then start giving away the details later. I'm betting we'll get a teaser or trailer of some kind very soon to embellish what we're seeing here. Given that it's only a few seconds and it looks good, it's hard to complain. Is this enough to help you guys get over the awful title and look forward to yet another visit to the Planet of the Apes? |
