MOVIE NEWS
First Clip From Watchmen Soundtrack![]()
For those of you who can’t get enough pre-Watchmen news, this is for you, although I have to admit that it’s a stretch, even for my high interest in the movie. A clip from My Chemical Romance’s cover of Bob Dylan’s “Desolation Row” has hit the internet, courtesy of MTV’s Splash Page, with the full video to arrive on iTunes on Friday.
Just being a movie-related music video normally wouldn’t give me enough reason to promote something like this, and I almost didn’t, because other than the song appearing in the movie, I don’t see much of a connection. Oddly, Sci-Fi Wire does, pointing out a Watchmen-style smiley face button on the drummer, and a Rorschach face on the stage. Having watched the clip several times, I don’t see it, but that could be because I keep getting distracted by the pop-up shampoo ad that appears on the lower part of the screen. What isn’t hard to see is My Chemical Romance’s love for Watchmen, as evidenced by the vinyl version of the single (pictured on right), which features the smiley icon on one side, and the Rorschach poster image on the other side, available for sale on their website. Pretty cool. Check out the clip below and see if you can make anything out. |
