I was slow about getting my mail today, but when I finally went to the mailbox there was a surprise: The first trailer for Flags of our Fathers on a CD. You'll remember that this is the Clint Eastwood movie split into two different versions. One movie will be shown in Japan and tells the story of Iwo Jima from the Japanese perspective, the other will be shown here in the United States and tells the story from an American perspective.

A few months ago we saw a leaked version of trailer that combined both films into one advertisement, but this one is the first trailer just for the American version.

Like the combined trailer we saw before, it's absolutely stunning. Clint has outdone himself on this one, visually it's impressive and emotionally… well even in an America already soaked in war it's damned moving.
