First Images And Synopsis For Peter Weir's The Way Back
It's been over six years since Peter Weir last released a movie, and fans of the Truman Show and Master and Commander director have probably been frustrated by the lack of detail about his next movie The Way Back. Now the silence has been broken! Quiet Earth found seven images and a synopsis for the film based on a true story about escapees from a Siberian labor camp. First the synopsis:
When they escape a Siberian labor camp in 1940, seven courageous multi-national prisoners discover the true meaning of friendship as their epic journey takes them across thousands of miles of hostile terrain en-route to India and their freedom. Sounds good, especially if they leave out all the hokey trailer talk. The movie starts Colin Farrell, Ed Harris, Jim Sturgess and Saoirse Ronan, all actors I'd watch doing pretty much anything (yes, including Sturgess). Check out a handful of the new images below and click on them for a link to Quiet Earth's full gallery. The Way Back doesn't have studio distribution yet as far as I know, but with a cast and a director like this, it probably won't be long before it's picked up. We'll let you know what happens. ![]() ![]() |
