First Images Of Diane Lane And John Malkovich In Secretariat

It may not be the hippest movie on DIsney's 2010 slate, but Secretariat has some real potential to be a hit, mostly because we Americans are total suckers for horse movies. Starring Diane Lane as the owner of the horse that won the 1973 Triple Crown, with John Malkovich as the veteran trainer, the film documents both Secretariat's momentous achieving in horse racing and owner Penny Chenery's struggles to get ahead in a male-dominated industry.

Secretariat comes out on October 8 this fall, but with the Kentucky Derby happening next month, publicity is already kicking up-- Lane and the real Penny Chenery will be the Grand Marshals of the parade that precedes the Derby, and they'll participate in a press conference with the horse's jockey, Ron Turcotte, on April 29. Before any of that, though, Disney has release three new images from the film, showing Lane in impeccable period gear, Malkovich looking about as normal as he ever has, and of course, the horsey! Click on any of the three images below for their full-size versions in our full gallery.
