MOVIE NEWS
First Images From Hollywoodland![]()
Hollywoodland didn't really jump up to the top of my upcoming movie radar until last week, when Rafe ran the first trailer for the film right here on Cinema Blend. The trailer made it look amazing, and suddenly it's the movie I'm most looking forward to over the next couple of months.
The trailer was presented in sort of low quality, so it was great to get an email from Focus Features this evening with new links to higher resolution version of the trailer, and a stack of sharp new stills from the film. In case you missed our trailer report last week, or just want to see it in higher resolution, click here to visit our video page for the film and see what I'm talking about. To see all our new stills from the movie, click over to our image gallery. Hollywoodland is a murder mystery based on the real life death of ex-Superman George Reeves. Reeves is the guy most famous for playing the character before Christopher, and no there's no relation. Note the "s" on the end of George's name. George Reeves' death at a relatively young age was declared a suicide, though the circumstances of his demise have always been mysterious. Many believe his death was actually murder. Hollywoodland spins a fictional tale around that infamous celebrity mystery and stars Adrien Brody as a private detective investigatings Superman's death. Perhaps even more interestingly, Ben Affleck plays George Reeves both in and out of the Superman tights, I suspect we'll see him in some sort of flashbacks as Brody investigates the case. Look for it in theaters this September, and let us know what you think below after you check out the new trailer links and stills. |
