We've been writing about David Twohy's A Perfect Getaway since January of last year, but despite that long process, I had no idea we were supposed to be expecting to see it soon. Apparentely Twohy had promised on his blog that a March 14 release was in the works, meaning we would see Milla Jovovich, Steve Zahn, Timothy Olyphant and Kiele Sanchez wrapped up in honeymoon hijinks this Friday. But the release has now been pushed back to August, and not for the usual worrying reasons. Apparently it's been pushed back because it's really good! Twohy wrote on the blog, "Recently Universal saw the movie, liked its upside, and made a successful bid to cherry-pick it away from MGM. Which is fine by me [...] Waiting a few extra months for them to get their marketing materials together is a small price to pay for having a major like Uni release your movie. Anyway, the date that works for Uni schedule is now sometime in August, possibly August 14. " So Twohy is asking the devoted to hold their horses for his next project, and sweetens the deal with two new images from the film, both of the foxy leading ladies wearing a minimum of clothing. Yeah, go ahead and accuse me of burying the lede, but I was assuming you guys were interested in more than just flesh. Call me naive if you like. He doesn't post all that often, but finding a director this candid with fans is rare, and it's something to enjoy while we wait for the release of A Perfect Getaway.
