First Look At New Sleuth Trailer![]()
I’m a big fan of Sleuth, the classic mystery that pitts a young Michael Caine up against an older Laurence Olivier. The remake has me intrigued because of Caine’s involvement – switching sides and now playing the Olivier role while the perfect version of young Michael Caine, Jude Law, steps into the younger role. On top of that, Kenneth Branagh isn’t exactly a name that lets viewers down.
We’re finally getting our first look at the updated mystery. Sony has unveiled the trailer on Moviefone, which you’ll find embedded below. Part of what I liked about the original was the feel of the game that was going on between these two men. In this estate filled with games and toys, they were playing a game with their lives. Here the look is a lot more pristine. It’s clean and more technical than before. That change makes sense for an update of the story because technology has changed. I just hope it doesn’t have too adverse an effect on the movie. The second one of these characters starts peeling off a mask Ethan Hunt style and I’m going to be severely disappointed.
