First Look At Pixar's New Short Film, La Luna
Here’s your first look at Pixar’s new short film, La Luna. It’s directed by Enrico Casarosa who started with Pixar back in 2002 working as a story artist on Cars, Ratatouille, and Up. He makes his directorial debut here. Nobody’s better at developing in-house talent than Pixar.
So what’s La Luna all about? Here’s the official plot synopsis: La Luna is the timeless fable of a young boy who is coming of age in the most peculiar of circumstances. Tonight is the very first time his Papa and Grandpa are taking him to work. In an old wooden boat they row far out to sea, and with no land in sight, they stop and wait. A big surprise awaits the little boy as he discovers his family's most unusual line of work. Should he follow the example of his Papa, or his Grandpa? Will he be able to find his own way in the midst of their conflicting opinions and timeworn traditions?Unlike most of Pixar’s animated shorts, this one won’t debut in front of one of their features. The Toy Story short “Hawaiian Vacation” is set to debut in front of Cars 2 this summer, instead. La Luna will go straight to the festival circuit. The short is 6:53 long, but if you’ve seen Pixar’s other shorts like Boundin or Lifted, then you know that Pixar can do a lot in only six minutes. We’ll let you know when and how you can see it, as more details emerge. |
