First Look At Poster For Ridley's A Good Year

A slow-paced Russell Crowe movie about savoring life seems a strange departure for Ridley Scott. After all, he's usually known for movies like Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Alien, and Blade Runner. But he's also the director of Thelma & Louise. Even Ridley likes to take it easy once in awhile, and when he slows down he slows down right.

Besides, after Kingdom of Heaven, maybe Ridley needs a new direction. That new direction is A Good Year, and Cinema Blend has a first look at the poster being used to advertise it.

It's posted to your right. To enlarge it, just click on it. I'm not sure about the picture, Crowe looks kind of smug, and if you look at the other images I've added for it in our A Good Year photo gallery here, that smugness seems to follow him through the entire movie. However, I really dig the tagline. There's plenty of meaning to be explored there. It could easily be applied to more than just the movie's characters as well. Maybe for Ridley and Crowe, inescapably linked since 2000's Gladiator this movie, a slow-paced drama, is their way of maturing together.

Or it's just something the marketing department came up with.

In either case, I can't wait to sit down and see what Ridley's up to with this one.
