First Look At The Losers
The Losers have arrived. Omelete’s got the first two official images from the upcoming comic book adaption. The first pic features a raggedy looking team plus the super-sharp Zoe Saldana, but I’m sure there are some badass firearm-wielding fighters under those tattered outfits. In the second image Saldana sheds the suit for a tiny tank, some tats and what looks like an eyebrow ring.
The Losers got its start over at DC Comics back in the 70s as part of the war comic book Our Fighting Forces. It focused on a Special Forces team serving in WWII. Each member of the unit lost soldiers under their command, hence they dub themselves The Losers. In 2003, Vertigo launched a reimagining of the story, swapping WWII for the more timely War on Terror. As for the film adaptation, here’s the official synopsis: An explosive tale of double cross and revenge, The Losers centers upon the members of an elite U.S. Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. The team-Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch and Cougar -find themselves the target of a lethal betrayal instigated from inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max. Presumed dead, the group makes plans to even the score when they’re joined by the mysterious Aisha, a beautiful operative with her own agenda. Working together, they must remain deep undercover while tracking the heavily-guarded Max, a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high-tech global war. These images look pretty good, providing the slightest taste of what we’re in for while opening the door for more new material to pave the way to the film’s April 9th release. Hopefully a trailer will drop soon so we can get a better gauge on what to expect. ![]() ![]() |
