After Half Blood Prince removed any hope that the final installment of my favorite book series would be accurately represented on film, it’s hard to get excited for these first images coming off the set of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. But if they were to try and win me back, images of the eccentric and hilarious Xenophilius Lovegood is a good place to start.

Rhys Ifans will be playing father to the unforgettable Luna Lovegood in the upcoming HP flick and judging by these first images he’s just as crazy and over the top as he is in the books. Xeno makes some unfavorable decisions in the story, but up until that point is about as likable as these pictures make him out to be. Well, as long as you disregard the fact that it looks like he and Ron are getting slightly more than friendly.

These pictures seem to have found their way around the tubes, but for my dollar I’d put money on the first appearing at the French Harry Potter site, L’Univers de Harry Potter. But even if this isn’t the origin, it makes me look cultured right?
