First Look Inside Joss Whedon's Cabin In The Woods

We’ve been waiting to see something from The Cabin in the Woods for fully two years now. Joss Whedon co-wrote the script with director Drew Goddard and this was meant to be Whedon’s first work in film since the greatness of Serenity back in 2005. When I reviewed the script back in 2009 I was excited, the whole thing seemed tight and taut, ready to roll out on screen. But somewhere along the way the movie got lost in development hell. It’s been done for awhile now, just waiting for someone to let it out into the world.

Well here you go, our first tangible evidence that Cabin in the Woods actually exists as a film. The following photo is the first ever from the movie, uncovered by Bloody-Disgusting where you can see an even bigger version of the image.

The above pic shows all five of the movie’s main leads inside the titular cabin. The story revolves around five stereotypical horror movie kids who head out of town for a vacation in the woods at a rented cabin, only to discover that things aren’t quite what they seem. To tell you any more than that, would spoil one of the most surprising movies you’re likely to sit through this year, assuming it actually gets released. Pictured in the photo is Curt the jock (Chris Hemsworth), Holden the dreamboat (Jesse Williams), Jules the slutty dumb blonde (Anna Hutchinson), Dana the awkward virgin (Kristen Connolly), and Marty the loveable stoner (Fran Kranz).
