I don't know if you are already aware of this or not, but Joseph Gordon-Levitt is pretty fucking incredible. From Brick to The Lookout, Inception to Myserious Skin, the man has proven that not only is he immensely talented, but that he's absolutely fearless. The man has the versatility that other actors dream of, and never is that more apparent than in the trailer for Hesher.

Posted by Apple, Gordon-Levitt plays the title character, a nihilistic, out-of-control, tattooed homeless man who does whatever the hell he wants and doesn't give a shit about anything else. Then there's TJ (Devin Brochu), a young kid who constantly gets bullied in school and recently lost his mother in a car accident. Then they meet each other...

This movie has cult classic written all over it. Hesher first premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, but while it received high marks, for some reason it has taken a year and a half to finally get a release date (and that's with a cast that also includes Natalie Portman and Rainn Wilson). The trailer is basically the definition of metal - can't go wrong with a hefty dose of Metallica - but I do wish that there was a bit more dialogue in the trailer. All the same, the trailer release also came with a new poster, which you can check out below. Hesher hits theaters on May 13.
