First Photos From Danny Boyle's 127 Hours image
It's been a while since we last heard about Danny Boyle's 127 Hours, the last bit being the announcement that Lizzy Caplan joined the cast back in March. The true story of Aron Ralston, played by James Franco, the film is about a man who gets his hand stuck under a boulder while mountain climbing and, in order to survive, cuts off his own hand to escape. It promises to be an intense, if not slightly gruesome, movie, but the first two stills from the production don't really show that off.

Entertainment Weekly has gotten it's hands on the first two photos from the film. In the first photo, Franco's right arm, which was the one that got stuck, is outside of the frame, so it's hard to tell if he's trapped under the boulder or if he is merely relaxing. The second features Franco walking with Boyle on set and considering he has both hands, the photo was likely taken while filming an earlier scene (unless they already removed the make-up/are doing the effects in post-production. The stills aren't much, but when you've been waiting two years for the follow-up to Slumdog Millionaire you take what you can get.
