While he may play in the raunchy Judd Apatow comedies and play the occasional asshole, Paul Rudd’s shtick has generally been the clean-cut, witty asshole, leaving the low IQ roles to actors like Will Ferrell (Anchorman, Steve Carell (Dinner For Schmucks), Seth Rogen (Knocked Up) and Seann William Scott (Role Models). But no actor likes to be typecast or put in a corner, and My Idiot Brother looks like Rudd’s attempt to escape from his.

Celeb Buzz, Lainey Gossip, and Kino Gallery have posted a bunch of photos from the set of the new film, capturing not only a bearded, hippy-looking Rudd, but Zooey Deschanel in a bathrobe and beautiful new-comer Janet Montgomery (she’s the one in the scarf talking to Rudd by the taxi). It’s always impossible the gauge how good a comedy will be by these kinds of stills, but if the picture of Rudd running is any indication, this should be a funny one.
