At some point while it was being delayed by the writer’s strike, I had this faint, foolish hope that Angels & Demons would somehow never get made, sparing us all another dose of Dan Brown’s nonsense. Unfortunately, I was wrong, and Angels & Demons is coming our way in less than a year. Thankfully, Tom Hanks’ awful hair from the first movie will not be part of the package. Small blessings!

Neither Hanks nor his hair are visible in the first poster for the movie, spied by MTV Movies at New York’s Licensing Expo (No, I have no idea what that is, or why I wasn’t invited). The poster is a straight-up teaser poster, with just the title, the release date, and some vaguely fancy background graphics. The red-and-black background somewhat mimics the Angels & Demons logo seen in the novel-- wouldn’t it have been cooler to show off the whole thing?

Anyway, you can check out the larger version of the above image at MTV, and take comfort in the knowledge that it’ll be at least another six months before the hype machine for this one truly kicks into gear.
