First Thor Trailer Will Be Attached To Narnia, Vague Description Online![]()
In late July, footage appeared online that was only meant meant to be seen by those who attended this past year's San Diego Comic Con. I am, of course, referring to the 5+ minutes of Thor that was shown during the Marvel panel. Not your typical leak, the video wasn't taken by some guy in the audience with a cell phone, but rather was a clear, official-looking clip of what should be one of next year's biggest blockbusters. The studio was fairly quick to shut the video down (though I'm sure that it still exists somewhere out there), but people have wondered since if the footage already seen will make up the bulk of the first trailer. Looks like the answer is yes.
The blog Idle Hands has apparently seen the footage and not only described it, but revealed that it will be attached to copies of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which hits theaters tomorrow. According to the site, the trailer opens the same way as the footage - with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) being interrogated by S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulsen (Clark Gregg), interspersed with footage of Thor taking down guards as he tries to retrieve his hammer, Mjonir. We then flash to Asgard, where Thor is being scolded by Odin, being called a "boy" who brought war to their peaceful land (again, stuff we've already seen). Then we get something new: Frost Giants on the march. Thor is then banished to Earth, where he is found by Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). The rest of the description is fairly vague, simply saying that we get to see flashes of Heimdall (Idris Elba), Sif (Jaimie Alexander), more of the Frost Giants, and, once again, The Destroyer. This news means that the Thor trailer will probably be online either at the end of the day today or at some time tomorrow. Either way, fans of the Norse God should prepare: the first official look at the newest Marvel film is almost upon us. |
