First Trailer For Cameron Crowe's We Bought A Zoo
It's been six years since Cameron Crowe last put a feature film into theaters. His last project, Elizabethtown, was a disappointment that was not only largely rejected by critics, but made only $52 million internationally on a $45 million budget. Fortunately he has now returned and he's bringing Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson and 47 different animals with him. Check out the first trailer for We Bought A Zoo below, or head over to Apple to see it in HD.
Everyone is going to make comparisons between the quitting scene in the trailer and Jerry Maguire, but I don't get the sense that Matt Damon is going to be begging people to go with him. Overall the film looks really sweet and charming, if not a little too melodramatic. I also hope that the young daughter can remain as cute in the movie as she is in the trailer. It's amazing how quickly a character like that can become annoying, but considering the effort that Crowe put into the casting process, I'm not too worried. In the film, Damon stars as Benjamin Mee, a father who has recently lost his wife to cancer. Seeking a fresh start for both his kids and himself, they move to a house on the countryside that turns out to be a part of a struggling zoo. The film co-stars Johansson, Thomas Haden Church, Elle Fanning, Patrick Fugit, J.B. Smoove, John Michael Higgins, and Angus Macfadyen. Apple has also released the film's first poster. Check it out!
The film is set to be released on December 23rd. For more info on We Bought A Zoo, be sure to head over to our Blend Film Database. |
