First Trailer For Cedar Rapids Turns Ed Helms Into A Leading Man![]()
Ed Helms is the perfect example of how someone with a lot of talent can find his way into the film industry. Kicking off his career on The Daily Show With Jon Stewart back in 2002, the comedian has slowly been climbing up the ranks, joining the cast of The Office before landing his first major film role in The Hangover. Playing Dr. Stu Price was only a supporting role, however. Now he's the leading man in Cedar Rapids.
Apple has posted the first trailer for the Fox Searchlight release which will have its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival next month. In the film, Helms plays Tim Lippe, a naive insurance salesman who tries to make his father proud when traveling to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for an Insurance Conference. Never having traveled out of his home town, his father drives home one very important piece of advice: stay away from Dean Ziegler (John C. Reilly). Tim soon finds himself becoming fast friends with Dean, and thing get a bit crazy. Check out the trailer below or in HD over at Apple. I feel like some people may disagree with me, but I personally really enjoyed this trailer. No matter how many times I see him, I always find John C. Reilly entertaining, particularly when he's wearing a trash can on his head and doing a bad impersonation of R2-D2. Also, how great is it to see Miss Maeby Fünke herself, Alia Shawkat, back on screen? Sure, she's playing a prostitute that tastes like cigarettes, but still. Also, there's a very important life lesson in here: never trust any guy with a ponytail. Apple has also released the first poster for the film, which you can check out below: ![]() |
