Luc Besson has made some interesting choices since directing Leon: The Professional, and while they haven’t always been good choices, they’re always, well, let’s just stick with interesting. His next film, an adaptation of the Franco-Belgian comic series Les Aventures extraordinaires d'Adèle Blanc-Sec, looks like a cauldron of odd and a whole lot of fun.

For those unfamiliar with the comic like myself, it apparently follows a novelist turned investigative journalist named Adèle Blanc-Sec who finds out that deep in the crime world is a universe of mystical beings and happenings. The first trailer has been released for the flick and although little is shown, it’s definitely something to get excited about. The film looks like it’ll offer, if nothing else, a beautiful palette of colors and great special effects.
