Sherlock Holmes was easily one of the biggest surprises of winter 2009. Not only was the film still able to make over $200 million domestically while battling James Cameron's Avatar, but it was also quite well received by critics as a fun winter action movie featuring a terrific dynamic between Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. After such success it was inevitable that the film would get a sequel and with Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows due out this December, today has the first trailer.

The trailer posted by Apple, the new film picks up where the last film ended, with Sherlock learning about the evil Dr. Moriarty (Jared Harris). The two are complete intellectual equals, but due to Moriarty's lack of conscience it's up to Sherlock to stop him before his new master plan is put in motion. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the movie also stars Noomi Rapace, Eddie Marsan and Stephen Fry.

Check out the trailer below or in HD over on Apple.
