First Trailer For Sundance Hit Happythank youmoreplease![]()
As a long time How I Met Your Mother fan, I've spent a few years watching Josh Radnor, who plays Ted Mosby, grow as an actor. In the shows six season-long run, Radnor has developed significantly, hitting on both the comedic and dramatic aspects of his character. Because of this progress, my interest was peaked when I learned that Josh Radnor the actor was turning into Josh Radnor the writer/director with an indie film called Happythankyoumoreplease that was shown at last year's Sundance Film Festival. My interest rose even more when I learned that the film took home the audience award in the drama category, and now, with the film due out in March, we have the first trailer, courtesy of Apple.
In the film, Radnor plays Sam, a writer, who one day sees a little boy named Rasheen (Michael Algieri) get separated from his parents on the subway. After learning that Rasheen has bounced around from foster home to foster home, Sam decides to let the little boy stay with him for a while, and introduces him to his friends. The film also stars Malin Akerman, Kate Mara, Zoe Kazan, Tony Hale (Buster!), and Pablo Schreiber. Check out the trailer below or in HD over at Apple. It was almost a year ago that our own Katey Rich saw the film while it was showing at the huge Park City festival and sincerely enjoyed it, and I can see why. While it may look like typical indie fare with some snarky jokes, I can see myself becoming interested in these characters and I like the proposed dynamic between Sam and Rasheen. Plus, who wouldn't want to chomp down on ten cookies at once? That's as relatable as movies get nowadays. |
