First Trailer For Yogi Bear Isn't Smarter Than The Average Anything![]()
Hot on the heels of yesterdays poster release, the first trailer for Yogi Bear hops on to the scene over at Yahoo! Movies to prove at the very least that it will be better than that astoundingly terrible Smurfs trailer. Alas, it remains an unabashed grab at cash by studio execs and filmgoers should skip this on prinicple.
If you’re waiting for a movie that will convince you to buy into this 3Dification of classic cartoons, this will not be it. Saying Yogi Bear looks terrible might be a bit of an overstatement, but it just looks like more of the same cashing in on childhood icons with no regard for the people who grew up on them. The CGI Yogi and Boo-Boo look just like you’d expect but the trailer suffers from a serious lack of what will be the film’s best asset, the always hilarious and adorable Anna Faris. Somehow the folks over at Warner Bros. have failed to recognize that December 17th may be the worst day in history to release a film as that weekend and the subsequent month or two’s box office receipts will be undoubtedly be DOMINATED by Tron: Legacy. If this interests you at all, please see Tron first then maybe make another trip to the theater for Yogi since you’ll all be on vacation already anyway. Scope out the trailer below and get yelled at by Ray Stantz himself, Dan Aykroyd. For more on Yogi Bear visit our preview. |
