Fishburne Matrixing His Way In To Fantastic Four

By Mack Rawden: 2007-04-13 20:35:28
Fishburne Matrixing His Way In To Fantastic Four I’m not sure which Hollywood modus operandi is worse: money grubbing studios betraying and exploiting great movies by filming sequels and remakes or the inevitable sprint to saturate a new genre market after a film’s breakout success. Either of these heinous cinematic crimes would be loathsome enough, but producers of 2005’s Fantastic Four may be able to accomplish both.

Ain’t It Cool News is reporting that the rough cut of the superhero sequel was met with horrid feedback. A few nights ago, Fox Studios screened an early version of Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer. Reportedly, the Hindenburg had more positive reviews than this debacle. At least, that firey nightmare had some survivors.

Possibly even more shocking is the report that Laurence Fishburne has joined the cast. Apparently, he will lend his voice to the Silver Surfer nemesis Galactus. Great. Let’s destroy some more great acting careers. What about John Cusack? Maybe we can find a bloated, overused superhero for him to play too.

I won’t be seeing this train wreck, but luckily, for Marvel Comics, there’s enough ignorant fanboys to turn a profit.

    Here are my thoughts:

If the screening of the film yielded results that were that bad, then what does it matter who voices Galactus? There has to be way more wrong with the film in order to garner such a response.

    Just my 2 cents...

Harry has been punked. This link at IESB reports its all a hoax.

Laurence Fishburne was in the Matrix movies, yeah, still what does the title of this article mean?

And yeah, John Cusack should avoid superhero projects so he can get some more romantic comedies like America's Sweethearts and Must Love Dogs under his belt. I forgot, he's also going to be in the fantastic thriller 1408.
