Fox Planning An X-Men Take On Harry Potter? image
It’s been a few months since we’ve heard anything about X-Men: First Class, the young X-Men movie which is supposed to be happening at Fox. Comicx Continuum caught up with producer Lauren Shuler Donner, who told them what’s up.

The planis to start them out as kids, follow them as they grow, and eventually have the franchise populated with adults. It actually sounds a lot like Harry Potter with mutants, and maybe that’s not a bad idea. The first movie will start out at the Marvel universe’s version of Hogwarts. Donner says, “It is the first class of Xavier's school, way back when, so it's young Scott, young Jean, young Beast and that'll be really fun.” And from there, they’ll grow up. “I think (the plan) is to follow some of the characters into their own stories, and weave them back into the X-Men world.”

If Fox is really intent on doing what is basically X-Men Babies, then this could be a really great way to make it work. Or they could scrap the whole thing, bring Bryan Singer back, and we can all pretend X-Men 3 never happened. Do I get a vote? Then I vote for that.
